HIRING & TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROMISES
A GW parents took this picture of Asst. Superintendent Stacia Felicello presenting the Montessori Implementation Plan to the GW Community on Aug 1, 2023. The plan included specific budgets for certifications as well as a $30,000 annual stipend for holding Montessori certification in addition to teacher cert.
NOTE that these rates of ~$7K are consistent with the costs of certification and training for MACTE certification, the level of certification ALL teachers held in the school when it was in Good Standing in 2018.
Let's not allow our community to be placated by a forgotten presentation & poorly upheld plans.
Let's hold the district to this plan and ensure that every teacher who leads an E1 or CH classroom as of September 2024 is on the way to a MACTE or equivalent level of certification, which represents the training needed to lead a multi-age classroom.
